Baird Parker Agar Base selectively isolates coagulase-positive staphylococci from food and clinical samples. Contains tryptone (10g/L), glycine (12g/L), sodium pyruvate (10g/L), lithium chloride for S. aureus growth. Add egg yolk emulsion + tellurite post-autoclaving. Produces diagnostic black shiny colonies with clear zones.
